Just received the story to go along with the pictures of last nites adventure from
      Trazal Memornix. Nice job!
Some new events took place in the FOA plot this eve, and we found ourselves in the
center of it. Below is a link to many pictures of the nights adventure. Zendella

This is a major news article sent in by Auldrek; Monday November 16, 1998 history was made on Shard Chesapeake. The Black
Rose Brewery in the player city of Corwyn hosted a meeting that saw the founding of the
Chesapeake Council of the Virtues Alliance. The Chesapeake Council of the Virtues (CCoV)
will seat Guild Masters from the most honorable and virtuous guilds of the shard. 14
guilds were represented as well as 3 player-run cities/taverns, 2 observers and the UO
      Chesapeake News.
AngelStorm (CBR), Auldrek (TDD), Trigg (KEF), and Lion Heart (CBR) have founded the CoV.
Those guilds in attendance are as follows:

        | CBR---Coven of the Black Rose OSR---Order of the Sapphire Rose
 M------The Marduke Empire
 SSm---The Song Smiths of Sosaria
 TDD---Tuatha De Danann
 KEF---Knights of the Eternal Flame
 MRR---
 OM----
 CoH---
 LV----The Lords of Vigilance
 BR----BladeRunner
 Solace
 PoV---Protectors of Virtue
 DoL---Dragons of Light

 Others in attendance:

 Mayor Winfield: Pax Lair
Chaos Lord: Owner of the Oasis Tavern
 Father Time: UO Chesapeake News
 Sir Robin
 Galador

 Other interested guilds:

 FS----Fire Society
 BK----Britannian Knights
 | |
(Note: The CoV has not been seated yet. These guilds were invited and have shown
      interest
though have not necessarily declared membership.)

The founders are very excited by the interest and submit the following information for all
      to read and understand.

The Council of Virtues has one main purpose. That purpose is to make UO a more enjoyable
place for those who reside on the Chesapeake Shard. We are not an army that will hunt PK
guilds, we do not seek to stop PvP combat, and we simply wish to Protect and Enlighten.
Too long have the people of Sosaria gone without guidance or help. Too long have we
suffered from apathy, self-interest, greed, and isolation. In an effort to spread quest
interest and involvement, as well as much needed protection from various anti-social
elements, we, The Chesapeake Council of Virtues, have formed from some of the greatest
guilds of Chesapeake in order to bring peace, prosperity, and the Virtues to all of the
shard, our home! No longer will an evil raid trouble a guild event! No longer will we be
forced to endure the loss of home and hall! Join with us Chesapeake, together we can do
anything, alone the void drowns our words away in a sea of empty blackness. Join us and
      let Your Voices be heard!
 The Council of Virtues.
What is it? What is this all about anyway? Many of you are, no doubt, asking this because
a simple description just isn't enough. Well my friends I shall attempt to describe us in
      greater detail.
CoV is made up of some of the most prominent guilds on the Chesapeake Shard. The reasons
for this alliance are simple. Many of you in your UO experiences have encountered many
things that try your patience and almost make you quit. For starters, all of us hate to
die and most hate it even more to be murdered by other players who then strip our corpse
clean of all possessions, even our valueless boots or hat. Do you ever ask yourselves why
they do this? Do you think, "Gee, this person killed me so easily, surely he does
this kind of thing all the time so he must be pretty rich... hmmm, why would he take my
clothes then? Yes the clothes I spent 2 hours on, picking out just the right colors,
finding just the right hat." The answer is simple friends; they do it because it
hurts you! I have often found it hard to believe that there are people like this out
there. The same people I see everyday on the streets of my real life town. How can
civilization be hiding such deep dark things just below the surface? Yet it is so. This is
something that goes far beyond UO to the heart and soul of Humanity as a whole. Is this
ridiculous to be speaking of in an online game? *grinning* Yes! The point I am trying to
make is that people are often cruel. In real life we have laws, police and courts. In UO
we have Merciless Town Guards! Outside of town we are all in dire straits. Is there
nothing we can do? The answer is yes; there is plenty we can do. Many have tried in the
past but have failed for two reasons. One, they hunted all PK bands. Two, they where not
large enough to withstand an assault from more than one of these bands at a time and so
eventually these past alliances failed. What is the difference with this alliance then? We
do not hunt PK bands. We do not seek out battles. Our intention is to force peace by size
alone! Picture if you will yet another attack on Pax Lair by 15 armed and extremely well
trained PKs. Suddenly 50 to 100 men surround them but do not attack. Imagine that these
men will not attack the PKs unless they themselves where attacked. Perhaps even then all
we would do is heal anyone over and over again so that they could never be killed! What
would these PKs do, supposing they havent already recalled? The key to success here
is to overwhelm them with numbers and only attacked if provoked. If we can thwart even
some attempts made at disruptive and evil behavior we have won!
Next, as we work our magic upon the land, more and more people will come to see that the
virtuous ways that we endorse are the right ways and even the norm. We are here to
enlighten the people of Chesapeake and show them a better way that they have never been
      shown before!
Some may say, but PKing is so fun, I am so bored with this game that this is all I have
left. Hmmm, how to answer this eh? Simple
Get involved! CCoV will try to keep
everyone informed and up to date on UO quests, player run quests and events, through a
vast network of informed and active players. CCoV may even be looking at sponsoring an
annual Chesapeake Olympics. *smile* How fun would that be? Lets not forget the other many
Guild events that may be joined in or even perhaps a small group of non-guilded folks
wishing to have some events of their own. CCoV will help you.
So you see my friends, we CAN make a difference. We shall enhance the UO experience to the
utmost of our abilities through role-playing, quests, events, and even protection from the
anti-socials out there. Any in this alliance may feel free to call upon the combined might
of CCoV at any time in any circumstance where their might is needed. Any outside of the
alliance may feel free to ask questions, get involved, make suggestions, or even request
aid. If some one is always waiting at the edge of town to kill your miner after 3 hours of
hard work, let us know about it. None of us like such things and the CCoV is against these
UO ruining experiences and anything like them.

If you reside on Chesapeake and are interested in joining please feel free to contact me!

      Auldrek sent this to me not long ago;

        | | The Town of Paxlair was alive last 2 nights ago with a
deathly visit from undead minions! Such creatures I have never before faced, Easily they
had the hardiness of at least 3 men and the intelligence as well. They worked together
efficiently and effectively nearly overwhelming the Defenders of Paxlair. This all ties
into some intricate plot that I can only touch on here. Needless to say someone is
creating these undead and the rumours are that it is the Order of the Blue Skull. At
Paxlair there was a statue erected that none has ever seen before. | |
What this can mean I know not but some claim that Gehenna in an ancient
tounge means Chaos. Some of us where able to piece together the words of a lost one that
had come to warn us of the battle ahead of time. In so doing we located a place with a
blue skull that he had mentioned and found a book there. I have managed to obtain a copy
of this book and will allow any who wish to read it to do so! Well lads tis yet another
threat upon that land that Danu will not abide by! I am very worried my friends, very
      worried!

More from Auldrek; This is an FoA quest update! It has just become know that Mariah of the Lycaeum and Julia of Minoc have been
kidnapped. It seems there was an attack on Trinsic and another city that served as a
diversion for this kidnapping. The FoA is said to be behind the attacks if not the
kidnapping. As many may know Mariah has done much research on blackrock, of Julia I know
not as of yet. It is all but fact now that Winslows body and his staff have been found
leading us to believe that the Winslow in the Yew prison was a Doppleganger. Could this
Winslow be the one pulling the strings? Recently the FoA member, Martoo Saul, was poisoned
by men that Lord Blackthorn hired! This happened after Blackthorn set free and spoke to
the Imposter? Winslow! HmmmI believe that Lord British is out of the picture and that
Blackthorn is taking control. I also believe that the FoA where just pawns and served
thier purpose. Lord Blackthorn is under the sway of something bad and we are all now in
danger. Also a Halston Montil was put in charge of the FoA investigation and
many believe him to possibly be a mole! More soon! Look to the UOSS site for more
details   Thanks for keeping us up to date on this situation Auldrek. -Drak

      This just in from Auldrek:

          | Ah, the new
lands! I can still smell the fresh earth as I write this tale. Twas quite a journey
indeed! Most of us, new to this land, met at the great bamboo constructed Bank of a town
called Papua. I, Auldrek was first to arrive and was soon joined by Trazal, Tyl, and an
brave outsider named Bo. As we set off we where joined by a bored warrioress mage named
Sondra who took a liking to Tyl of all people. We set off to the north in hopes of hunting
a Wyvern, which incidently would have been a much simpler journey than what we undertook,
          but I digress.... | |
          |
Heading north we met our first beast at the bridge crossing over a river. A Lava lizard I
believe. It fell all to easy as our combined might slew it before it could utter a croak.
Continueing across the bridge we entered into a desert land with high crags and
mountainous passes. After dispatching a Stone gargoyle our troubles began. An Ophidian
attacked us as we examined the gargoyles corpse. A fierce creature with a snake like body.
It took a while to slay and we where a little shocked at our first encounter. As we
marched further into the desert we happened accross an Ophidian King!! Quickly we attacked
such a prize. After a tough battle we emerged victorous and claimed our rewards.
Unknowingly we where nearing the Ophidians stronghold and they must have heard their Kings
death scream for after a short while we where beset upon by more of these foul creatures!
They began to come in droves and it was all we could do to survive. We all fought hard and
bravely. Magic flew. Sword clashed. Yet still they came. When the brave Bo went down we
quickly mustered our strength and drove back the foe gaining us enough time to resurect
him and return his items. Sondra truly fought like a Tigress and had the powers to revive
Bo. Tyl ran bravely ahead into each combat calling the Ophidian onto himself and risking
his life at every turn. Trazal showed uncomon Valour by rushing ahead many times to stop
an Ophidian in its tracks as we dealt it death. All fell before us, warriors, archmages,
and Queens alike! We where truly a force to recon with this night! Danu smiled upon us
greatly. That is, until the world collapsed without warning and plunged us all into the
abyss with a glaring sign before our faces "Connection Lost". And so it was that
a nights battled passed almost like a dream but we still remember the taste of victory in
our mouths and the suger of riches on our tounges! Perhaps next time we shall be able to
carry away more than memories! Until next time Tuatha De Danann! Danu be praised! -Eldar Auldrek |

Thanks for the tale and the pic's Eldar! -Drak
