I was born in Vesper. My parents were simple people, living off the
land. They preferred Vesper to some place like Britain or Trinsic. Not as busy, a closer
knit community. My mother died when I was very young. I do not remember much of her. I
only know that she died on the water. Her first trip by boat actually. Myself and my
brother, Jynxid, were brought up by my father, Trad Memornix.
He was a woodsman by nature. There was nothing about the woods that he did not know (I
only come to find out later, that when he did not know something I asked him, he made
something up, knowing I would not know either way). His career of choice was bowcraft. He
made excellent bows, and I joined him at it for a while. Alas, he died one day while
working in the woods, felled by an evil Orc Mage. I vowed that I would one day avenge his
dead. I was only of 12 years when he died, my brother was only 10. We lived alone in the
house for many years, angry at everything and everyone. I trained hard with the sword and
bow, but by brother did not grasp the concepts of fighting. I was worried about Jynxid for
a while, he was very angry inside. He did not seem to grasp the concept of anything, and I
feared that he would soon be killed by his own words!
I will never forget the day, in the Marsh Hall, that someone made a comment to Jynxid
about our father. He made a comment back, and before I knew it, there was a fight. I tried
to jump in, but I was held back. The advisory (I am sorry, I do not remember the name, but
it is not important) drew his sword, and I knew it was over. Then I heard the words. I
have never heard Jynxid speak these words. The words were "Por Ort Grav". From
Jynxids fingertips flew lightning bolts, hit the man square in the chest, the fight
was over. I was shocked. I asked my brother where that came from, he did not know. It was
at this point, that our relationship changed. He was different. I did not understand
Magic, just as he did not understand Blades and Bows.
Jynxid moved away to Britain, I stayed in Vesper. My world was coming apart. I tried my
hands in the Bowcraft profession, but I did not fare very well. I then tried carpentry,
same result. So I wandered. For many years I wandered around the world looking for my
place. I lived in Yew for a while, but there were many bowcrafts and carpenters there much
better then I. I tried Minoc, but I was not very good at mining. I would say what changed
my life was the day I saw that Orc Mage.
I do not know if it was the same Orc Mage that felled my father, chances are it was
not, but all I know is that those people were in trouble. It was a young family; the
parents could not have been more then 19, and the child less then one. They were wandering
through the woods, for who knows what reason, and there was an Orc Mage fighting the
father. He was badly injured, and would have died I am sure. I could have looked the other
way, but something inside me said, "Help them". I ran at the mage without
thinking. Before I knew what was happening, I felt the heat of fire and lightning all
around me. I thought for sure I was going to end up dead, but I kill it. That was when I
knew that my life did mean something. I was on the planet to help people.
I soon decided to travel to Britain. I have always heard that Britain was a good city
to help people in, but my brother was also there. I never did find my brother in the city,
it is a big place, but what I did find was that the world was in need of my assistance. I
heard of a group of people called The Followers of Armageddon. And that this group was
trying to claim the contents of many chests all over the land. By force if need be. I was
starting to become a skilled warrior, so I volunteered to help out. At first I did not
know what to expect and I was overwhelmed to see that so many people had decided to help
save the world. It was also at this point that I met Auldrek.
Speaking with Auldrek, I learned that there was much injustice in the land. And at one
people, we even created a "police force" to try to help those that needed it. It
was a wonderful time in my life. At last, there was something that I could do, that would
help out. I was then asked, by Auldrek to join the Clan. I gratefully accepted. I was a
great honor to be asked to join those to help others.
The rest is, as it is said, history. But, there are a few other things about me that
should be known. I have just recently started learning the ways of magic. I am not very
good at it, but I am working. I have never stepped on a boat. I have an un-natural fear of
the water. I hate Orc Mages. I would love to kill them all, but generally, if I see one, I
simply leave. And lastly, if you ever see my brother, Jynxid Memornix, say "Hi"
for me, he lives in Britain.
